CARRIE-ANNE MOSS Self-appointed queen of karaoke Carrie-Anne Moss is still reeling from her extended stay in Australia where she was the only female on-set for the Matrix, a new Keanu Reeves thriller co-starring Laurence Fishburne and Joe Pantoliano. Not bad for her first big movie, which required the Toronto-bred actress to learn how to perform the martial arts, fly a helicopter, shoot a gun, and ride a motorcycle. Portraying a "girl hero" was a big kick for Moss, but not as big a kick as performing karaoke with friends at home in her bedroom. "I got a machine as a gift on my last birthday," she says, "and I am passionate about it. I’ve got two microphones so we can do duets. Sometimes my friend will even get in the closet and we’ll act out scenes from ‘Phantom Of The Opera.’" While there are no Dog Star tunes in her current karaoke repertoire, Moss claims she "loves" Reeves’s band…almost as much as she reveres fellow Canadian Alanis Morissette.
